Rfactor 2 dirt track racing4/22/2024 Otherwise, good old AC or ACC (Gt3 cars only) are also good sims. If you play in VR, then AMS2 or PC2 are most VR friendly as all the menus can be accessed easily in full VR. In my opinion it's geared more towards those who get more enjoyment from winning than driving, perhaps that's unfair, but the driving realism is good in it. iRacing can be relatively expensive, but those who love the competitive multiplayer would say that it is well worth the money. There are also good multiplayer drivers in other titles but if you are on an open sever and not in a league, it tends to be a mixed bag. You can (usually) expect to get some good clean racing in the higher classes, but not always! Although there is plenty available multiplayer of a good standard, I'm more fond of doing a 10 min qualifier and a 10 lap race several times than spending a couple of hours perfecting the one track and car waiting for the race to begin but it depends on what you're after. I haven't used it as much as I thought I would though. I found the physics in iRacing to be good and personally feel that it is excellent compared to other sims when it comes to braking and locking up your wheels. Which sim is best is very subjective and some people get aggressively protective over their favourite title, but I personally think that they are all good in different ways. I managed to get a cheap deal for starting on iRacing for only about £20 for the first year. You should always run a CPU that can max out your GPU otherwise one or the other will limit your frame rates. I recommend a good CPU, didnt think so until I got an i9. Generally the game runs very well on most machines due to the flexibility (complexity) of graphics options. You can even turn up graphic settings at a loss of distance rendering which is a good compromise in my opinion. I use a seat mover with traction loss and transducers. It translates superbly into motion and vibration of road texture. Tracks are fantastic, lots of details etc. You can join some leagues where the racing is even more focused and race craft is stellar. Later you'll have plenty of clean racing with stiff competition. Patience, staying back, studying the driver in front and finding your passing opportunities is what wins races in the rookie series. It can be frustrating in the beginning to get out of the rookie series as most are getting used to sim racing, they don't employ proper race craft when it comes to passing and everyone wants to win on the first few laps. The system used to establish races, places you into them with people of "similar" race ability. The people who race there are for the most part very focused on driving to ensure a clean and challenging race. My statements are just my opinion and I encourage you to check out some youtube videos. I would highly appreciate any donations.I've been on iRacing since 2012 or so. TDF Roughness added to bring track to lifeĬones added to remind drivers to stay in or out of pit lane when entering (Will have correct drag when hitting it)Ĭut track FIX (Could get cut track on apron) (as if they are scared of you!)įixed some realroad textures missing alpha reflections layerĬoncrete walls use correct material. Slowwhenpushed set to "0" AI Cars will now not slow when you get close behind them. To avoid lap up/lap down penalties common in online races when yellows come out while drivers are in pit lane. Pacecar release endpoint moved as close to finish line as possible. Pacecar release endpoint moved back to correct place.ĭisable cut track (as per Mountain Pk Speedway)Īs fields were approaching 30, online racers were starting to get cut track penalties in error. Designed to give drivers more space like in real life. They are about as good as I can get them for RF2.
